New Dover's VBS goes online!
Due to COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person Vacation Bible School and make Rocky Railway a digital experience this year. Even though we won't get to be with each other in person, we're still excited to have you onboard with us as we learn to trust Jesus’ power to pull us through these unprecedented times!
All aboard for fun at New Dover's Virtual Vacation Bible School!
At Rocky Railway, kids discover through life’s ups and downs that Jesus’ power pulls us through. Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, engage in one-of-a-kind Bible Adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them to trust Jesus, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll receive and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.
Virtual VBS
The stations and bible lessons are all pre-recorded and will be made available online during the week. A link to access the videos will be sent after registering online. Starting July 13, you will have access to the video content at any time of the day, and have the option of going through VBS at your own pace!
Experiencing God's Word
At Rocky Railway, one memorable Bible Point is reinforced throughout each station, each day—making it easy to apply long after VBS is over. Each day, kids will travel from station to station (Bible Adventures, Sing & Play Express, KidVid Cinema, and Imagination Station)!
Day One - Jesus’ power helps us do hard things!

Day Two - Jesus’ power gives us hope.

Day Three - Jesus’ power helps us be bold.
“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.”

Day Four - Jesus’ power lets us live forever.
“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.”
(Romans 8:11)
Day Five - Jesus’ power helps us be good friends.
“Love each other in the same way I have loved you.”
(John 15:12)
Register by July 1st to receive Bible Memory Buddies!
Each piece features a Buddy on the front, plus the daily Bible Point and verse on the back. Kids can showcase the Buddies on their stands, carry them around on Rocky Railway Carabiners, use them with the Tracking with Jesus Student Book, activate the Rocky Railway app, and whatever else their imaginations come up with!

A Stay-On-Track Student Pack filled with Bible Memory Buddies, a Watch for God Wristband, a Tracking with Jesus Bible Book, and Sciency-Fun Gizmos! We will have a contactless pick up day for parents/guardians to drop by the church to receive the student packs. More information on time/dates will be sent via email after registering. If you are out of state, we'd be more than happy to ship you the VBS kits if you'd be willing to cover the shipping cost. Please reach out if you have any questions!

Meet the VBS Crew!
We're New Dover's VBS team with a love for children and a passion for Christ! We're excited to help kids celebrate that they can trust Jesus through all the twists and turns of life. Join us for an online Vacation Bible School experience where we spend each day together discovering God's love.
Zoom Hangout with the Teachers!
To conclude the VBS week, the kids will have an opportunity to connect with their fellow classmates and teacher on Zoom! We invite the children to use this afternoon time (date/time TBD) to connect with those that have also attended VBS online! We welcome any questions they may have about what they have learned throughout the week, or if they just want to say hi!
A Zoom meeting link will be sent via email during the VBS week.
Frequently Asked Questions
VBS Week is July 13-17, but is there a time?
Since VBS is online this year, there is not a set time. The stations and bible lessons are all pre-recorded and will be made available online during this week. Starting July 13, you will have access to the video content at any time of the day, and have the option of going through VBS at your own pace!
How long do I have access to the Virtual VBS content?
You have access to the video content until August 13, 2020.
Is there a deadline to Register?
Yes, the pre-registration deadline is July 1. Please submit your registration by this date as the Stay-On-Track Student Packs aren't guaranteed with registrations received past the deadline. This gives us enough time to prep the packs and schedule pickups.
How do I receive my Stay-On-Track Student Pack?
Parents/guardians can drop by New Dover UMC (Edison, NJ) during the scheduled no-contact pick up times to receive the student packs. If you are out of state, please reach out via email at [email protected] and we can ship the pack to you!
Every year you have a mission project alongside VBS. How can I help out this year?
Great you asked! This year we will be incorporating New Dover's Food Ministry as our mission project. We encourage you to drop off non-perishable food items at the front of the church, or donate $25 to help put together emergency food baskets. Please make checks out to New Dover UMC. Please mail the check to 687 New Dover Road Edison, NJ, 08820. We'd greatly appreciate your donation!
